In the Summer
Looking for summer fun? We offer over 200 weeks of summer camps for ages 3 to 17. Choose from half-day, full-day and overnight programs with themes such as art, music, dance, travel, athletics, swimming, pop culture and outdoor education. You DON'T have to be a County resident to sign up!
During the School Year
While school is in session, we operate an after school program on-site at 13 Roanoke County elementary schools. After School for Kids is an enrichment program for grades K-5 offering daily age-appropriate activities that foster physical, social emotional and cognitive development. At Green Ridge Recreation Center, our Ridge Kids after school program is open to grades K-5, with transportation from Glen Cove and Fort Lewis elementary schools.
Looking for a day camp experience focused on outdoor adventure and fun? The Discovery program introduces campers to a wide range of activities that include: archery (ages 7+), arts and crafts, field games, the climbing tower, hiking, creeking, special events, a trip to Splash Valley Water Park and much more! A hot lunch and two snacks are provided daily. Free satellite transportation is available from Tanglewood Mall with camper drop-off from 8AM-8:20AM and pick-up from 4:40PM-4:50PM. Program ru...
The Bricks 4 Kidz Robotics camp offers all the fun of building with LEGO® Bricks, plus the challenge of computer programming! How would you like to turn your next LEGO® creation into a robot, programmed to do exactly what you tell it to do? This fun, action-packed week combines real life skills with real kid fun, using the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Are you interested in learning about Yoga but don’t know where to begin? This class combines a variety of forms including Osteo, Restorative, and Hatha Yoga to allow your body to stretch with a flowing movement and ease.
